#TRIPLive is there any way to move prison policy up the political agenda? In particular - will any politician ever notice that a good way to save public money would be to imprison fewer people?

#TRIPlive would love to hear views on visible religious faith in British politics. What's changed since "we don't do God?"

Lots of possible material for future #ukgovchat s including how to ask good questions/become a better questioner, what we have learned from our boards, and one of my favourite topics in my day job - silence!

Yes, be explicit about why what someone did or said was helpful or useful or appropriate so they and others do more of it #ukgovchat

Have you discussed The Facilitator? Doesn't necessarily want a profile for themselves but do their best to help the meeting run, for all on the board to speak, including those who might otherwise not be heard, but also keeps their focus on what has to be discussed #ukgovchat

Recognise and praise their skills and contributions. Encourage them and then learn from them. #ukgovchat

Watching and then having a conversation with them outside of the meeting about what they asked and why is even more interesting! #ukgovchat

So a last-minute question for #ukgovchat - can we do more to help governing board members recognise and use their superpowers?

.... and not being afraid to challenge. This governor asked a really great question of the board - challenging our own practice and it really made me (us) think. #ukgovchat

That's a good point. Sometimes a great question comes from someone who's not got bogged down in the history or the personalities and can zoom out and see what the governance issues are #ukgovchat

I must admit it does flag a bit now as the years have gone by but .... if I just go and spend time in school with the children I am recharged! #ukgovchat

Have the rest of you learnt from them? Has it improved your communication skills away from the Board? #ukgovchat

The superpower of the governor who always asks a really great question - so important and I love it when it makes us all think. #ukgovchat
