This is why people are rightly losing faith in the system and looking for an alternative. The alternative to a capitalist system, where the economy is run purely to maximize profits for corporations, is a socialist system where the economy is run to meet people’s needs. Capitalism guarantees endless profits for rich shareholders. Socialism guarantees housing, healthcare, education, and community for all.
