The RePEAT exhibition is in place in the Kerry County Museum from now until the 30th of June! Our launch event for this leg of the roadshow is on Thursday the 12th of June from 7-8.30pm - bookings can be made via email to education@kerrymuseum.ie or by calling 066 7127777.

Facts: 1) Permafrost is thawing with recent warming, worsened by fires and human land use. 2) Thawing ground releases greenhouse gases typically more than it stimulates plant growth. 3) Thaw can interfere with infrastructure, hunting, travel, and military operations.

Our peatlands restoration team recently visited Mayo to study hepatic mats, which must be protected when developing & implementing blanket bog restoration plans. These are unique bryophyte communities that, although prefer well-drained soils, can be found on blanket bogs too.
