Looking like we're going to abandon this platform soon. Its owner has turned something once reasonably worthwhile into a mire of lies and hatred.

Trump's comment about Rob Reiner today really underscores that he's a narcissist. Someone this narcissistic can't fight for you; if you believe otherwise, you're a mark. You are just a pawn in his need for aggrandizement. Ten years after he descended on his golden escalator, he hasn't brought manufacturing back. In fact, manufacturing jobs contracted this year. His biggest accomplishment this term — the Big Beautiful Bill — was just more tax cuts for the rich and slashing government spending for the working class. His political appointments have thus far been nothing more than concessions to wealthy donors who supported his campaign. Many of these people are building the AGI robots that will replace you in ten years. If you dare to question him, he'll toss you aside like Marjorie Taylor Greene, no matter how much you stood by him in the past. He cares about nothing but himself. The most you'll get is a wildly racist remark on Truth Social, which makes you feel like he's fighting for you, but you are, again, meaningless to him. He feels nothing and believes in nothing except his own aggrandizement. His Saddam Hussein ballroom means more to him than policies that are supposed to help you.

What are we giving up our freedom to protest for? So that a foreign state can enact a genocide free from criticism? Seriously, what possible good does this do for the U.K.?
Solidarity with @doctor_rahmeh who’s been raided by British police & arrested: they even stole her mother’s phone to stop her reporting it

These figures are shocking. They show the government's capital spending over a 6-year period. Cumulatively, Reeves plans to spend £166.4bn on arms - nearly quadruple the amount for education (£43.8bn) and double the NHS investment (£82.9bn). More here: therestisbullshit.substack.c…

A piece by the head of Rock En Siene festival in France today. "And yet the Kneecap concert at Rock en Seine took place without the slightest incident. No tension, no violence. Nothing but artists, music, audience. Proof, if any were needed, that what some elected officials fear is not disorder, but freedom. In this general context, festivals are attacked because they are places of freedom, mixing, youth, that escape their logic of order. Music is too alive and too hybrid to fit into their identity narrative. Rock en Seine has chosen not to submit and not to censor its programming. We are proud of it, because culture cannot be bought, it does not submit, it does not negotiate. Because we have remained free.  Defending culture today is not defending an aesthetic, it is defending an idea of society, it is defending democracy. Culture is what remains for us when everything wavers." 👏👏👏👏👏

Unreal. Awdah Hathaleen, who worked on Oscar-winning film “No Other Land,” filmed himself being killed by Israeli settler Yinon Levi. Levi was freed from house arrest because judge said there was no “causal connection” between him shooting & Awdah’s death.

This government scheme is spin, shifting more work onto GPs under the guise of reducing waiting lists. Referrals are being blocked despite clinical need. If GPs didn’t think patients needed specialist care they wouldn’t refer them. This will only delay treatment for patients.

‘Got the balls’? Cutting benefits doesn’t take ‘balls’—it takes callousness. Real courage is tackling inequality, supporting the vulnerable, and ensuring no one has to choose between heating and eating. There’s nothing bold about pushing people further into poverty.
