“The post-event travel nightmare served as a stark contrast to earlier proclamations Saturday from the NJ Transit X account that trumpeted how it ‘successfully moved 21,578 fans from today’s match at NYNJ Stadium via bus and rail in 90 minutes.’”

As of now, NJ TRANSIT has successfully moved 21,578 fans from today’s match at NYNJ Stadium via bus and rail, in 90 minutes.
Governor Sherrill deserves credit for developing and implementing a plan with contingencies.

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 53 YEARS, THE KNICKS ARE NBA CHAMPIONS 🏆
New York defeats San Antonio 4-1 in the NBA Finals, capturing their third championship in franchise history!
So, if @GovSherrillNJ gets the credit here, that means she gets the blame for locking regular riders out of New York Penn Station and Secaucus Junction, especially for the weekday matches, right?

shutting down the streets around Penn Station as thousands of World Cup fans arrive back from NJ Transit has turned out exactly as chaotic as you might have expected
NJ Transit CEO tells News12 that the trains are running on schedule - and that with gridlock on Route 3 - they are prioritizing the trains over the buses.
They have sold some 20,000 train tickets - the capacity was 40,000.
Do we really emails every 20 minutes about the World Cup service changes, @NJTRANSIT and @njtransit_ca? Regular riders have known about this for months. One reminder per game day is plenty.
Frequent alerts help for unplanned service changes (disabled trains, wire issues, etc.).

Sending the same message every 20 minutes for a planned change serves no real purpose for regular riders and is just annoying clutter.
1-2 reminders at or before the changes start and 1 advisory after things go back to normal for the day is how you should manage these comms.
From NJ TRANSIT: Rutherford Train Station eastbound is now CLOSED to all eastbound trains until 6pm.
Trains will be passing through but not stopping.
@RutherfordPDNJ
Not to mention the fact that if you are a Secaucus Junction passholder for intrastate travel, NJ Transit offered no discount, even though you’re locked out of the station on match days.
Did @NJTransit_CA do anything to advocate for impacted intrastate riders?
A 3% discount on June tickets is inadequate if NJ Transit trains are reserved exclusively for World Cup travelers. Regular commuters should not be inconvenienced or have reduced access to train services.☹️ @NJTRANSIT
Meanwhile, NJTRANSIT at 3:30. No line to get in. People are starting to fill up train now but definitely confusion because it was so empty.

The fact that NJ Transit has sold 31,589 tickets TOTAL to the stadium when it expected to carry 40,000 fans to EACH GAME makes me very, very curious about how people are actually planning on getting there today.
NJ TRANSIT rail service from Penn Station New York is currently reserved for World Cup travel only. Please go to PATH’s 33rd Street Station for travel to Newark Penn Station and Hoboken Terminal to continue to your final destination station. Service at Penn Station New York is expected to resume after 5:14 PM.
Yeah, congrats on locking regular riders out of New York Penn Station and Secaucus Junction today, @NJTRANSIT 🙄! Bang up job!
Also, that’s 15,000 out of 40,000 or 37.5% of your capacity. Let’s get the final numbers before we “celebrate.”
