The recent detections of New World Screwworm are a serious concern for Texas ranchers, producers, and rural communities. The Secure America Act is headed to President Trump’s desk, and our brave men and women who stand on the thin line to defend our sovereign borders and safety finally have the funding and certainty they need to do their jobs. For 76 days, Democrats held the Department of Homeland Security hostage. They walked away from the appropriations process, shut down Homeland Security operations, and used the safety of the American people as political leverage. Even today, every single House Democrat voted to defund ICE and Border Patrol. But Republicans, who were elected up and down the ballot by the American people to secure the border, enforce the law, and restore order, refused to allow this back-handed attempt to revive the chaos of Biden-Harris open border policies. The American people fundamentally rejected the chaos of the last four years. They elected Republicans for the promise of secure borders, safer communities, and restoring rule of law. The Secure America Act makes good on that promise.

There has never been a simpler and clearer contrast between the two parties in this country. Today, Democrats voted to defund Border Patrol and effectively abolish ICE.

Republicans are done with the obstruction. We were sent here to restore the rule of law and put the American people's safety and security first. That's exactly what we're doing today.

The American people gave President Trump an overwhelming victory and gave Republicans unified leadership in Congress. The number one reason they did that was to restore the rule of law and put the American people's safety and security first. That's exactly what we're doing.

After years of rhetoric comparing ICE to the KKK and the Gestapo, is it any surprise threats against law enforcement have skyrocketed? Assaults against ICE agents are up 1,300%. Death threats are up 8,000%. Republicans are fully funding ICE and CBP - and we're doing it for three years so Democrats can't hold our law enforcement officers hostage in another government funding fight.

Democrats' long-time objective has been to defund immigration enforcement and abolish ICE. In fact, they held the American people's safety and security hostage for 76 days by blocking funding for @DHSgov. Republicans are using reconciliation to ensure our @CBP agents and @ICEgov officers have the resources they need to enforce the law, secure the border, and protect the American people. I can't find a Democrat willing to enforce the law, secure the border, and deport criminal aliens who are in this country illegally. Republicans are giving ICE and CBP the resources they need to protect our communities - and we're funding those resources for three years so Democrats can't hold the American people's security hostage in another shutdown.

When Democrats had total control of Washington, they abdicated their first and most important job: providing for the common defense. They didn't secure our border, they didn't enforce our laws, and it was destroying the fabric of this country. Now, instead of working with President Trump and Republicans to defend our communities, they continue to harbor people who have broken the law and refuse to help identify the most hardened criminals so we can deport them and restore safety and security to our communities.

Republicans are making good on our commitment to ensure our border is secure, our laws are enforced, and our law enforcement officers have the resources they need to succeed.

President Trump was elected to secure the border and restore the rule of law. Republicans are giving @ICEgov and @CBP the resources they need to enforce our immigration laws and remove criminal offenders from our communities. Democrats are still obstructing, refusing to work with law enforcement and standing in the way of the mission the American people voted for. Under Biden, the American people were losing $3,000 in wages every year and had a 21% regressive tax hike. Today, thanks to President Trump and @SecScottBessent, wages are up and take-home pay is up. Relative to the dark ages that we were thrust into by Biden’s failed policies, now, we are at the dawn of a golden age.
