Today, I voted YES on the RESTORE Council’s 2026 Funded Priorities List. With this vote, we are allocating over $403 million for coastal resilience, habitat restoration, and water quality improvements across the Gulf of America. This adds to the more than $1 billion given out by the Council over the last decade across Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. This is not taxpayer money. It comes directly from those responsible for Deepwater Horizon.
As we near America’s 250th birthday, it is great to see cooperative federalism working to invest in one of America’s national treasures, the Gulf of America! This is a WIN for the Gulf and for all the Americans who rely on it for good-paying jobs!
