Today, I voted YES on the RESTORE Council’s 2026 Funded Priorities List. With this vote, we are allocating over $403 million for coastal resilience, habitat restoration, and water quality improvements across the Gulf of America. This adds to the more than $1 billion given out by the Council over the last decade across Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. This is not taxpayer money. It comes directly from those responsible for Deepwater Horizon.   As we near America’s 250th birthday, it is great to see cooperative federalism working to invest in one of America’s national treasures, the Gulf of America! This is a WIN for the Gulf and for all the Americans who rely on it for good-paying jobs!

This week, the RESTORE Council approved over $400 million for restoration projects in the Gulf states. While all the money comes from the responsible parties of the Deepwater Horizon incident, EPA, and the entire council, is laser focused on making sure that this money is spent wisely.   Great to join @wdsu in NOLA to discuss the progress being made to build a more resilient Gulf of America.

📍Albuquerque, New Mexico Today, the Fruit Avenue Plume #Superfund site remains under continued monitoring and review as #EPA and the @NMEnvDep work to ensure the remedy remains protective over time. 🔍 As part of the ongoing Five-Year-Review process, EPA recently conducted community interviews to hear directly from residents, local organizations, and stakeholders about site awareness, concerns, and future communication needs. These conversations help shape how EPA engages with the community while evaluating the effectiveness of the cleanup. The work builds on decades of environmental response efforts in downtown Albuquerque. Former dry-cleaning operations released hazardous chemicals into the soil and groundwater beneath Fruit Avenue, and in 1989, contamination was discovered in a supply well – launching years of investigation, cleanup, and long-term groundwater monitoring at what became the Fruit Avenue Plume Superfund site. Since then, EPA and the New Mexico Environment Department have worked to help protect nearby communities and the environment through continued site oversight and cleanup activities. Looking ahead, the Five-Year-Review is scheduled to be completed by summer 2027, continuing the long-term commitment to protecting human health and the environment at the Fruit Avenue Plume Site. ✅ Learn more about the site here: epa.gov/superfund/fruit-aven…. #FromTheFieldFriday #EPARegion6 #NMED

A tractor shutting down during harvest because of a faulty Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system has long been a devastating reality for too many farmers across America, but is now becoming a problem of the past as a result of Trump EPA actions this past year. Visited this weekend with the Oklahoma Farm Bureau and many of their amazing member farmers.
