Let me fix that: Supreme Court halts federal judicial overreach, allowing Alabama to conduct elections using its legislatively approved congressional districts.
The U.S. Supreme Court will allow Alabama to make changes to this year's elections and use Congressional district maps that a lower court said intentionally discriminates against Black voters.

Thanks to the State Legislature’s action following the Callais ruling and SCOTUS quickly applying the hand of justice, Alabama is poised to elect its Congressional Representation using a map drawn for Alabamians by Alabamians. Full statement below: “For over four years, the state of Alabama has been subject to lawsuit after lawsuit aimed at handing the Democrat Party undeserved seats in Congress. This effort was fueled largely by Barack Obama, Eric Holder, and a slew of organizations whose guiding values are firmly rejected by Alabamians. Despite this, they eventually found a friendly audience with a panel of federal judges who saw no issue in using their power to strip Alabama of its constitutional right to draw congressional maps and eventually issue an injunction that clearly violated new precedent set forth by the Supreme Court of the United States. From the initial lawsuits to last month's Special Session and the court actions that followed, this has been a long fight—but one well worth fighting.”

It was an honor to be at Jacksonville State this week to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the Randy Owen Center. Randy’s legacy is so much more than music - it’s service to others and giving back at every possible opportunity. Congratulations, Randy!

Another huge win for Alabama. The people of our state deserve to have their elections conducted using maps drawn by those elected to serve them in the State Legislature. Anything else undermines the will of Alabama voters and the constitutional role of elected representatives.
I can tell you this: Alabama is not tired of winning. I am proud to celebrate yet another victory for Alabamians and our elections. In this case, we are talking about Alabamians in State Senate Districts 25 and 26. #alpolitics

Jamie gets it — Alabama has a winning strategy for workforce development that is built around working with industry to train the next generation for in demand jobs. Students are graduating with little to no debt and stepping into high-wage careers the very next day. Other states are adopting this same approach for one simple reason: it works.
Alabama just got a national vote of confidence from the most powerful banker in America. Read full report here: yellowhammernews.com/jamie-d… #Alabama #Business #Workforce #Jobs #ALPolitics

Three activist judges are trying to silence the voices of over 5 million Alabamians. We look forward to seeing what SCOTUS has to say about that. Full statement below: “Yet again, the three-judge panel has decided to force a racially gerrymandered, court-drawn Congressional Map upon the people of Alabama. As disappointing as this decision is, it is ultimately unsurprising given their long track record of siding with liberal plaintiffs and handing Democrats congressional victories in the courtroom. Elections should be decided by voters at the ballot box, not activist judges who believe they know better than the people they were appointed to serve. I believe this decision is blatantly in violation of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Callais v. Louisiana and will not stand once it is presented before a higher court. This is nothing more than a politically motivated attempt to weaponize the judicial system for partisan gain, and Alabama has every intention of taking this to the Supreme Court and fighting back.”

It’s hard to beat celebrating 250 years of America while listening to Randy Owen sing My Home’s in Alabama. Randy grew up in a sharecropping family in DeKalb County & went on to become one of the biggest stars in country music history. If that’s not the American dream, I don’t know what is. 🇺🇸

Alabama’s top two lawmakers welcomed Monday’s U.S. Supreme Court order vacating the federal injunctions on the state’s congressional map. Both Speaker @RepLedbetter and Pro Tem @GarlanGudgerJr pointed to last week’s special session as a move that has put Alabama in an immediate position to act the moment the high court ruled. Alabama’s 2023 congressional map currently has a Section 2 VRA and 14th Amendment violation against it. I simply stated that we want those violations lifted so we can move forward with our 2023 congressional map, not that the 14th Amendment needs to be removed from the U.S. Constitution. This is a total lie and is refuted by my comments in Friday’s press conference, which are on video for anyone to see. Unfortunately, this blatant attempt to misconstrue my comments, cause division, and attack my character is a perfect example of why people struggle to trust certain media outlets in this day and age. I appreciate the honest and balanced reporting from @austinpratt_tv.

Ledbetter was later asked to clarify the comment on the fourteenth amendment. I’ve included his responses here to see since many people here have commented on it.
