Yesterday, the committee held a voting meeting and favorably reported two bills to the full House: @RepTimBrennan's bill to increase burial benefits for workers who are killed on the job (HB 2049), and @SenTartaglione's bill to update the state's accessibility code (SB 867).
Today's @PADemPolicy hearing brought us testimony of how the high cost of life-saving medication vs. the need to work is causing problems for seniors. That's why I'm fighting to raise income limits for PACENET so our seniors don't have to decide between groceries vs. medication.

I'm full of GRATITUDE today that we finally have a #PaBudget! First, I'm glad that we have a $750,000 increase in human trafficking enforcement & prevention. This aligns with my work in the #PaHouse to #EndHumanTrafficking with increased awareness & training for lodging workers.
#EducationIsPower & a top priority. I'm thankful for the increased investments in the School District of Phila. Interboro & William Penn School Districts. More than ever we have to look out for our most vulnerable - over $40 million to address food insecurity will go a long way
We have more work to do and we'll get right back to work on next year's budget, so #JoinTheConversation and let me know your priorities! But for today, it's a good day.
