How I know I have a grant deadline coming up in a matter of weeks: Any period of supposed "down time" ends with me frantically writing down the ideas and phrases for the grant that inevitably pop into my head 😅😂🤣

A #NewPI question for #AcademicTwitter: How do you deal with email communication that is very clearly AI generated?
My instinct is that this is a dealbreaker (you need to be able to express your interest in the lab!), but I know this could be overkill with equity implications…

I've been quiet here because (breaking news😉) being a #NewPI is hard. But my first semester is done!
There's been a mix of accomplishments (submitting my first grant!) and disappointments (that grant getting rejected!), but the net is positive momentum. I view that as a win😀

As a #NewPI reviewing a flawed manuscript, I make sure not only identify the flaws but suggest ways they might be remedied in revision.
I'm guessing the length and rigor of reviews decays exponentially with time on the job 🤣
