Newsom Agrees to $31,500 Ethics Fine Over LA Wildfire Donations 🔥
California Gov. Gavin Newsom has agreed to pay a $31,500 fine after the Fair Political Practices Commission found he failed to timely report $5.5 million in “behested” donations — many directed to wildfire relief efforts following the 2025 LA fires.
This includes major contributions such as:
• $1M from the Chuck Lorre Foundation
• $500K each from BlackRock, Uber Eats, Lockheed Martin, Anthem Blue Cross
• And others from Apple, Amazon, Verizon, etc.
34 of the 36 late reports went to the California Fire Foundation. This marks a repeat violation — he was previously fined over $10,500 for similar late reporting.
Fiscal sloppiness has plagued the Newsom administration for years. It’s one of many reasons California faces well over $1 trillion in combined debt.

California deserves real accountability — not politicians with massive private fortunes and potential conflicts of interest while running the state.

The Supreme Court denied the State's request to overturn the trial court's order overruling the State's demurrer to the plaintiffs' Master Complaint. Californians were fed up with retail theft and passed Prop 36 in all 58 counties with nearly 70% voter approval.
Instead of fully funding and implementing what voters demanded, state legislators drafted AB 2108 and created yet another diversion program: this time for retail theft offenders.
Like mental health diversion, it offers another way to avoid jail time. Offenders even walk away without a conviction on their record. Even more surprising is that some of California’s largest retailers, along with the California Retailers Association, support the bill despite reporting billions of dollars in losses due to retail theft.
Voters wanted meaningful consequences for retail theft offenders, but the state legislature moved in the opposite direction.
