Tomorrow, we’ll discuss an off-duty incident that occurred on Sunday involving an NYPD Assistant Chief, Benjamin Gurley. Initially, it was reported that an accidental firearms discharge occurred. However, the Haverstraw Town Police Department revealed today that both the chief and the other party sustained injuries. The other party was believed to be harassing the chief’s daughter. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the firearms discharge. As a consequence, Chief Gurley was placed on modified assignment, with his firearms and shield removed. Today, he was administratively transferred from his position as the Bronx North Borough Commander to the Executive Officer of the Housing Bureau, a position he held as a Deputy Chief. Tune in at 5:05 PM EST tomorrow, Wednesday 5/27 for this and more…

Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 5:05 PM EST, as we delve into the recent case of NYPD Chief Richie Taylor. He pleaded guilty to Department charges related to time theft. As a consequence, Chief Taylor was ordered to repay approximately $20,000 and forfeit 60 vacation days. Despite these penalties, he was transferred and placed on dismissal probation, allowing him to retain his job and discretionary rank. We will examine whether this punishment was fair or if it was an instance of “white shirt” favoritism. Additionally, we will consider how members who were not favored by the upper echelons would have been disciplined. Lastly, we will determine if this act constituted a criminal offense. Jump in the live chat on YouTube and let us know what you think.

Imagine ruining a guys career because you had to rush to put out information on social media that no one cares about so you can get 7 likes on X. And then being such an insufferable clout chaser that you rush to make another video about your “friend” so you can get another 7 likes, all while referring to yourself in the 3rd person. What kind of “friend” would do that ? Signed Joe Cop AKA “The Peanut Gallery” 🤣😂

🏈 🚨 TUESDAY APRIL 28 | 7:05 PM ET 🚨 🏈 From the Streets…Linebacker to Command…to Commissioner. Next week on Ten-Four Tavern, we sit down with Floral Park PD Commissioner and #NYPD Inspector Steve McAllister (Ret.)…and this one runs deep. 25 years in the NYPD. CompStat era leadership. Commanding Officer of TARU, overseeing 150 technical investigators on major cases across New York City. Borough Commander in Manhattan Transit. CO of the 66 Precinct in Brooklyn. Then…not done. Police Commissioner of Floral Park PD for the last 15 years. Builder. Leader. Still in the fight. Oh… and somewhere in between? Linebacker for the NYPD Finest. Co-founder of the National Public Safety Football League. Multiple championships. Because apparently running a precinct wasn’t enough action. This isn’t a war story episode. This is about leadership, evolution, and what it actually takes to run a department. Pull up a stool. 📺 Watch Live: youtube.com/@TheFinestUnfilt… #theFinestUnfiltered #TFT #policeleadership #NYPD #lawenforcement #publicsafety #CompStat #policecommissioner #truecrime #podcast

Join us at 5:05 PM EST where we discuss the discretion officers have during stops, including issuing warnings, civil or criminal summonses, or making arrests for minor offenses. Additionally, we explore the political implications of these decisions. We will also discuss the recent appointments by Police Commissioner Tisch of Cardinal Dolan and Rev A.R. Bernard as the new spiritual leaders for the NYPD. As always, everyone is invited to join in the live chat.

A vineyard backdrop, a homicide mind-set. Shot this one at King Family Vineyards and went back into the trenches; revisiting last week’s conversation with Vernon Geberth and the hard realities of homicide work. We also touched on the Nancy Guthrie abduction (Savannah Guthrie) case and some of the troubling inconsistencies that continue to raise questions. Then we looked ahead to Episode 34 with Chief Kevin Barrett, from walking the beat to leading a department to co-founding @RespondrBourbon, built around those who serve in law enforcement, fire, and the military. John Macari and I started this as a small podcast and it’s grown into a full network. Thank you, brother, for grinding every step of the way. You’ve been the rock and the glue holding this thing together. None of this happens without the team, our friends, and the listeners who show up live, jump into the chat, and help drive the conversation. That engagement matters more than people realize. Huge thanks to Ron Leyson and Rob Lukach for bringing top tier shows and a lifetime of experience to the table. Tom Joyce and Pete Forcelli helped take us national bringing real law enforcement exposure from across the country. Grateful to have you both on this team. And special respect to Marlon Bethel behind the scenes, on camera, wearing every hat. Marlon is absolutely key to our success. What makes this special is that we come from law enforcement, but we don’t all think the same and that’s the strength. Different ideals. Different styles. Different voices. It’s like we’re all emcees, and together we make the team. Much respect to the entire Finest Unfiltered family. The grind is real and I’m grateful to be building this with all of you. #TheFinestUnfiltered
