‘Expecting all children the same age to learn from the same materials is like expecting all children the same age to wear the same size clothing.’ –M Hunter
How's our kids' overall mental health in Ontario schools now? Better or worse than we gave enough of a shit to test them for COVID, inform them of exposures, and asked them to mask? Of course the protect kid mental health people in large part never cared about kids' mental health
The #6thWave as predicted, ICU and hospitalizations as predicted. Does anyone have a problem that these were predicted and Dr. Moore knew lifting the mandates would result in this? @OntHumanRights isn't this willfully endangering the lives of those with disabilities and the aged?
When EQAO is written it will only show the impact of the pandemic on students & with the sunshine list report out, teachers will be bashed for no reason. Its all political #onted
Premier Ford says a mask isn’t needed in #Ontario. Based on 15 years experience as a hospital-based HCW & a health focused PhD to assess/interpret data, I’ve decided to continue wearing a mask in public gathering spaces.

I thought @fordnation government was supposed to work for Ontarians, not using our taxpayer dollars to fight legal battles to prevent us from knowing what they're actually working on as their priorities. Ministers' mandates linked to platforms should be public. #OnPoli#OntEd
BREAKING: Ontario is seeking to appeal a court decision requiring the government to release mandate letters at the Supreme Court of Canada, @newsbeyondca has learned.
A notice of application seeking leave to appeal was delivered to Canada's top court today.

i just got asked about the “politicization” of choosing to wear a mask. let’s be sure — if you decide to keep wearing a mask tomorrow, it is not a political stance, it’s an act of care/love for those around you and keeping science/evidence in motion.
Note to Ontario public teachers/parents/students: While not mandatory, you have the right to continue #WearingMasksInSchool Exercise your right to stay safe and keep others safe.
Wearing a mask doesn’t just protect you, it protects others. When you return to work or school tomorrow, please continuing wearing a well-fitted mask.
Your high-risk and Immuno compromised colleagues and students will thank you. #keepiton#choosesafety
So many people I know currently have #COVID19. I honestly thought we might have made it through Spring/Summer but infections are increasing & looks like another wave is in progress in many parts of world. Why are all restrictions being removed now? Makes no scientific sense.😷💉

As Ontario eliminates licence renewal fees, the province still has not eliminated the wait list for autism services which now stands at over 50,000 children.
In particular, the word "continue" caught me eye, because you'll no doubt recall that Lecce, his predecessor as education minister Lisa Thompson and the premier all talked about how terribly Ontario students had been doing in math. #onted
So I looked up the results of the 2019 Pan-Canadian Assessment Program, and compared them with the previous results (2016). Turns out ... Ontario students scored just as well in 2016 as they did in 2019. cmec.ca/240/Pan-Canadian_Ass…#onted
Interesting 🧵Thanks for looking into this @CBCQueensPark. Many of us have been pointing to the actual evidence about Ontario’s performance in math in provincial, pan-Canadian & international assessment which generally shows relatively high levels of achievement. #OntEd#OnPoli
This bit in today's news release from Education Minister Stephen Lecce caught my eye:
"Nationally, Ontario students continue to be among the top performers in math"
