I love how data and AI scientist Usman Humayun describes AI chatbots as an overconfident friend: someone who delivers recommendations with such certainty that you rarely stop to question them. Just like that friend in school who always stated facts with total conviction, the confidence itself becomes the persuader. Executives are increasingly making decisions, on pricing, hiring, strategy, customer messaging, based on AI output delivered in exactly that tone. Leadership teams need to build the habit of pushing back on a confident answer, as they would on a junior analyst. Are you accepting AI-generated answers without the same scrutiny you would apply to anyone else on your team? #LeadWithPurpose hashtag#AILeadership #ExecutiveCoaching hashtag#LeadershipDevelopment #AIStrategy

Check out the latest article in my newsletter: THE AGE OF THE MAKER [038] For a hundred years we were taught leadership is management. It isn't. It never was. The greatest leaders were always makers: Ford, Edison, Ibuka, Jobs. AI is collapsing the manager layer. The age of the maker is back. @rgmcgrath @TheStalwart @tracyalloway @BlackRock linkedin.com/pulse/age-maker… via @LinkedIn

On the new Lead with Purpose: JoAnn Garbin says only about 10% of working-age Americans are actively using AI to reinvent their work. The other 90% are running. Her metaphor for AI is a forest. Layers, roots, canopy. The design choices matter. youtu.be/2vdZ9Sdn3_Q?si=Ugj4… @JoAnnGarbin #innovation

A classic... so much fun back in the day! @ijooma rocks!
I Can Ship My Pants!” – The Legendary Kmart Commercial That Had Everyone Laughing (and Blushing) In a bustling Kmart store, a wide-eyed customer approaches the helpful associate at the counter with a mix of surprise and excitement. “So I can ship my pants right here?” he asks, barely believing it. The associate smiles confidently. “You can ship your pants from anywhere!” The news spreads like wildfire through the store. A woman on her phone lights up: “You hear that? I can ship my pants for free!” She beams. “Wow… I just may ship my pants.” Her enthusiasm is contagious. Nearby, a dad turns to his young son, Billy. “Yeah, ship your pants, Billy. You can ship your pants too!” The kid’s face explodes with joy. “I can’t wait to ship my pants, Dad!” He pauses, then adds triumphantly, “I just shipped my pants!” The camera cuts to more delighted shoppers in everyday situations—on the bus, in the laundromat, at the kitchen table, even mid-yoga pose—all chanting the same ridiculous refrain with pure glee: “Ship my pants!” “Ship my drawers!” “I just shipped my bed!” This 2013 Kmart ad was marketing gold: clever, memorable, and hilariously edgy. It turned a simple shipping promo into a viral sensation that still cracks people up today. Who knew free shipping could be this much fun? 🚚😂

Wow. Just, wow. This is what delusional looks like. Actions have consequences.
New York Gov Kathy Hochul is begging wealthy people who have moved to Florida and Texas to come back to New York and pay taxes. 🤣 "I need people who are high net worth to support the generous social programs that we want to have in our state. Now, there are some patriotic millionaires who stepped up. OK, cut me the checks if you want to be supportive, but maybe the first step should be go down to Palm Beach and see who you can bring back home." "I have to look at the fact that we are in competition with other states who have less of a tax burden on their corporations and their individuals. And I would say remote work changed everything." "There were people who could only work in an office in Manhattan and work in New York state. And they were captives to our state, they were going to stay. We saw that that's not the case. Wall Street businesses looking at Texas, they're not going there because they have a nicer governor. They're going there because of the tax rate."

It's coming. Are you ready?
This aired tonight to 1 billion people in China. A year ago these robots could barely wave a handkerchief, now they can do backflips and kung fu with nunchucks. Physical intelligence is the next frontier.
