Last night, @RulesReps voted three times to let Donald Trump create his corrupt slush fund, pay off convicted violent felons who beat cops on January 6th, and give $$$ to the people he pardoned who have gone on to commit more crimes, including sexually abusing children.
They’ve turned the Rules Committee into the Donald Trump Protection Committee.
The budget bill passed by House Republicans today will increase the deficit by $70 BILLION dollars.
It should offend all Americans who are rightfully concerned about our country’s spiraling deficit.
BREAKING: @RepMGS is about to force a vote on the House Floor to block Trump’s $2 billion slush fund giveaway to the violent convicted felons who attacked police on January 6th.
Republicans voting yes on the previous question are voting to support Trump’s corrupt MAGA giveaway.
Republicans refuse to work with Democrats to negotiate a bipartisan funding deal, EVEN when it means making life better and more affordable for the American people.
The House Rules Committee voted 7-4 against a plan to block anyone who received a Jan. 6 pardon from getting money from the Trump 'anti-weaponization' fund. All Dems for the plan, all GOP against. 3/

The House Rules Committee voted 7-4 against a plan to block the Trump $1.8 billion 'anti-weaponization' fund. All Democrats were for the plan, all GOP against. 1/
As Leader @RepJeffries points out, the GOP reconciliation bill leaves totally intact the $1.8 billion slush fund Trump wants to give to the violent felons he pardoned after they tried to overthrow the election on January 6th.
ICE and CBP have BILLIONS left from the money given to them through the Big Ugly Bill. It begs the question: where is this money going? The American people deserve to know the answer.
.@WhipKClark lays out the numbers: the reckless Republican budget gives over $70B more to ICE/CBP—we could feed millions of American children with the amount of additional funding they want to dump into these lawless agencies.
The reckless Republican budget leaves ICE & CBP w/ a $170 BILLION slush fund. Besides terrorizing Americans, what will they use all that money for?
Ask former Secretary @KristiNoem, who went on a spending spree, buying luxury jets & filming a fancy commercial to boost her ego.
.@RepTeresaLF: “Trump fired 25% of the people who tracked and helped us control the screwworm. Did you know you have a case in your district?”
@RepArrington: “I know we have cases in Texas...”
@RepTeresaLF “You’re not aware there’s a reported case in your district?”
WATCH: @RepMGS calls out Republican hypocrisy. Republicans talk a big game about fraud, but seem to get awful silent when their political allies steal taxpayer money.
.@RepTeresaLF just now: “This is about priorities. We are supportive of border security. We do not support the cruelty and corruption that is going on.”
Americans did not vote for an out-of-control ICE agency.
But Republicans want to give ICE $70 billion to continue terrorizing communities.
We say HELL NO!
The Trump admin says DHS needs billions more.
But we’ve already seen what DHS does with taxpayer money.
Noem bought luxury jets. And now Secretary Mullin is using them.
It’s a misuse of taxpayer dollars, & they should not be rewarded with more money.
The party of "fiscal responsibility" has made their stance clear: deficits don't matter when it comes to tax breaks for billionaires and blank checks for ICE.
What are House Republicans up to this week?
Not lowering your costs.
Not fighting corruption.
Not protecting healthcare.
But funneling $70 billion to ICE’s masked thugs.
