For those wondering about Tesla’s reliability and longevity- they are twice as likely as a Subaru to reach 250,000 miles. And that’s the older generation less reliable Teslas.

Ok I'm going to have to spell this out. The SCC did not grant leave likley because the question of whether aboriginal title can supercede private tenure did not squarely arise in the NBCA case. (1/3)
The lev of misinformation/ misunderstanding out there is insane. No that is not what happened. The Supreme Court of Canada declined leave to appeal; they did not dismiss the appeal. Totally different.

(2/3) The NBCA decided private tenure holders are entitled to be present and heard when declarations of aboriginal title are sought. Comments re aboriginal title overlaying private tenure were obiter. (I.e. passing comments, not the basis for the Court's judgment.)

(3/3) , The BC Cowichan case is likely going to be the eventual one where the SCC will consider the aboriginal title / private tenure issue as that is squarely what the case is about, not a tangential issue like it was in NB.

Well done, 53741 people. Can we find another 46,259 Stargate fans to get this to 100,000?

The Expanse was one of the few really good Science Fiction shows to come out over the last decade or two; was looking forward to the new Stargate being the next. Here's hoping @amazon @AmazonMGMStudio will reverse course; there will be a lot of cancellations coming if not
The Expanse went through this with Syfy and the fan backlash was so great, they managed to be picked up by #Amazon and continue the series for another 3 seasons. If the fan backlash is big enough, they will listen. Get #Stargate trending, let #Amazon know how you feel. We want what @BaronDestructo and Mr. Gero and everyone involved with the original deal, to be back on the table, and get a green light to start filming, with no oversight or input from your studios and your execs. #SaveStargate #Stargate #Amazon @JeffBezos

Been looking for an excuse to cancel my @amazon Prime account - this might be it.
Sadly, it's true. Amazon has elected not to move forward with the new Stargate series. There's not much I can add beyond confirming what's happened. But I will say this... Creator Martin Gero developed a new Stargate series over two years, ultimately crafting a show that offered a fresh jumping-on point for new viewers while deeply respecting existing canon. It was a series that avoided the pitfalls of several modern remakes and reboots by fully embracing the core of its predecessors: action, adventure, exploration, wonder, heart, humor, and found family. And based on that creative vision, the new Stargate series was greenlit in November of 2025. As of today, officially, that original vision is no more. We'll never get the opportunity to introduce you to that world and those characters - or reintroduce you to, and check in with, some familiar faces from the past. My heart breaks. For the incredibly talented writers who worked tirelessly to bring this show to life. For Martin who maintained an unwavering positive outlook throughout despite the challenges, and who always strove to make a show that would honor the fans while welcoming a new audiences. And for the long-suffering Stargate fandom who waited so long and came so close to getting a show they truly would have loved.

Stargate SG-1 writer Joseph Mallozzi confirms the news that Amazon killed the new Stargate show: "Sadly, it's true. Amazon has elected not to move forward with the new Stargate series. Did Stargate fans lose out on something that would have been truly special?
