More than 450 creators, policymakers and cultural industry leaders from around the world gathered in Paris on 4 June 2026 during the centenary General Assembly of CISAC to adopt The Paris Commitment, a landmark declaration calling for the protection of human creativity in the age of artificial intelligence. Led by CISAC President Björn Ulvaeus, the declaration urges governments, technology companies and cultural industries to ensure creators are protected, recognised and fairly remunerated as AI technologies evolve. The commitment outlines key principles including the protection of human creativity and cultural diversity, transparency and fair remuneration in AI systems, the importance of collective management, and stronger safeguards for creators’ rights. The initiative comes amid growing global concerns about the use of copyrighted works in AI training and the impact of AI on creators’ livelihoods and cultural expression. To add your name in the protection of human creativity, please sign the Paris Commitment on the link below: cisac.org/pariscommitment
