Waterfalls, running Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon, and getting ferried out of the canyons to end the day. I’ll let you guess which is which. @LandslideSalmon@SFUENV@HakaiInstitute
Thank you to all the staff members who work tirelessly to bring these exciting student-centered events to life.
Our Summer 2022 @SFUENV Convocation Celebration was a huge success! It was exciting having everyone together to celebrate our recent graduates.

A huge shoutout to the team of SFU's School of Environmental Science @SFUENV researchers for their research on preventing future extinction-level events🐟
In 2018, the Big Bar landslide blocked the Fraser River and put salmon at risk. @SFUEVSC researchers are part of a project looking at how landslides threaten salmon and what can be done to prevent future disasters. Read more at: ow.ly/wWVI50J6wRt
Congrats to Zoey, the 2nd-ever alum of the Little Ecology Group! We know Zoey is going to do great in law school. The environment and people who care about it will be lucky to have her on their side!
Having grown up around nature, studying environmental science made sense for Zoey Schutz.
Now, Zoey prepares to take her passion for conservation in a new direction, beginning law school at @uvic this fall to study environmental & Indigenous law.

Last lab meeting of the year. We made mad libs about our science. We’ve had many great successes and are planning some exciting projects 😂
ALT A text with some blanks filled in, reading: “waterways, which are often left partially slippery even when they are flyed by development, could be a promising connection among cats, ushering wildlife to more loud habitats as exams drive them out of their current habitat. I will be using chairs to determine if waterways or stout spaceships are more effective connectors in Hawaii. Stream width could be also a long limitation for wildlife space use in two ways: intelligent streams may be too difficult for animals to hide in, and light streams may deprive mammals of coffee during dry periods.”
ALT A text with some blanks filled in: “the little ecology group has had a tired year! Our 2 group members jumped a whopping total of 99 jellybeans, which was the most in the department of science. Professor little obtained 12 dogecoins of research funding, which the group mostly spent on a box and skiing. We are also very proud of the Mexico that we developed together- it took us 21 hours to get a finished product! The group members are looking forward to a purple holiday break before we start it all again in 2022.”
