I have been a registered Republican for 60 years but I spent today watching Jimmy Kimmel re-runs on YouTube and really learning about the man and decided my side was wrong about him. I just registered as a Democrat.

When Obama was elected, I said to myself, "Wow, America is finally headed in the right direction." We're finally becoming a nation inclusive for all. Little did I know that it would bring about such hate. I had no idea that it would usher in the likes of the Tea Party and ultimately hate groups like the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys. That was only the tip of their hateful iceberg. Many Americans had so much disdain for having a black man (half white) as the president. They decided to go as far as they could in the other direction. They felt that a racist would be a better president (Trump), and he didn't disappoint. He came in and did everything he could to help the rich. But, not the middle-class or poor. Trump's final straw was his mismanagement of Covid. Which brought America to its knees (spiritually and financially). In comes Biden. But, the transition of power would not be smooth at all. Trump had seeded the lie that the election was stolen and sent a bunch of his cult members, MAGA (Make America Great Again) on Jan 6th 2021, to the Capitol building to disrupt and stop the transition. Biden was once seen as a racist. Whether he was or not, he seemed to atone for his past by being racially fair. DEI was adhered to in all aspects of his presidency. During the four years that Biden would be president, Trump was seething in the background. Never letting go that the election was rigged and he should still be the president. Well, as we know today, Trump was reelected (somehow, we still don't understand how). His hateful and racist nature is blossoming, full bloom. From his lies about Haitians eating cats and dogs, Hispanics stealing jobs, he's deporting brown people, and removing and dismantling anything black, Trump is on a racially motivated roll. He's even destroying our economy and people's 401k retirement packages. Many of his cult members didn't think that they would be affected by his hate. But, today, they are all in a state of FAFO (F*ck Around And Find Out). We're only about a hundred days in.
