As someone who had a long, complicated surgery that absolutely changed my life (and saved a kidney beyond all the other organs and helping my spinal trunk), this seriously concerns me for others needing the same. Would this also affect open heart surgery, organ transplants?
"I think it could put the system further at risk… It's going to pull resources away from other complex surgical procedures [and] other complex care within a hospital." -Stacey Litvinchuk, a former senior program officer of surgery operations at AHS. cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/p…

So… my bird, named Captain was in a @iamjohnoliver Oliver story about birds masterbating. Same bird did this in front of a guest while making eye contact with her. And finished by saying “I love you Captain.” I’m still ashamed of him doing this. Regardless of what John says.

Except it’s not "voluntary or dignified" when instead of being offered the supports and treatments people need instead doctors and nurses are suggesting to patients that MAID is either their best or only option—this is called coercion through denial of adequate care.

This👇 Excellent reporter Govt has been in power three yrs and still the ministers have no clue how beds they need or are being built… They just get up there and re-announce beds that aren’t even in the plan to plan stages…
Alberta govts & AHS have known for at least 10 years that Edmonton is dangerously short on hospital beds. I wrote this article about it 3 years ago. The UCP cancelled the South Edmonton Hospital and started an Alberta is Calling campaign. #ableg ctvnews.ca/edmonton/article/…

Only in Alberta can DS make you grateful to have cancer (yes I’ll be fine). At least I can get a needed vaccine. Too bad my household can’t.

The reality is, both of the Human Development metrics (life expectancy and years of schooling) are largely Provincially controlled. Canada falling down this list reflects years of criminally underfunded healthcare & education by Conservative governments in AB, SK, and ON.

Every few months, some ER doctor goes viral for saying you need to take it very seriously when a male patient says his wife made him come in, and I'm infuriated that women are considered reliable ONLY when they're saying a man needs care, but not when she needs care herself. 🙃

#CovidIsNotOver This is my 15th semester teaching RN and NP students about Covid 19 pathophysiology. Not a lot has changed except for how much damage we now know the virus causes. It still baffles me that people don’t know it’s airborne, don’t know the risks. 1
