It was an honour to caption Ruth Myers’ funeral yesterday onsite and remotely. Apparently this was the first ever captioned Jewish funeral so a trailblazer in life and death. Ruth we will miss you.

Wow this NADP workshop was great fun, although a sight challenge for a captioner; it's not often we are asked to write words like "higgledy-piggledy" - I would so do it again! Thanks for a great Saturday NADP

We asked @SignHealth what they want to see NRCPD doing in 10 years time and they have said they would like to see improved regulation, more Deaf professionals working in settings, more Deaf people protected and to make sure interpreters are safe to practice.

We are now discussing CODAs being asked to interpret for their parents at hospital appointments with SignHealth. We would always recommend that a NRCPD registered sign language interpreter is booked to interpret at the appointment. Family members should not interpret.

"I'm mildly deafblind and so I need patience when working with NRCPD registered language service professionals. I trust that they are professional and skilled enough to be flexible and accommodate to my needs as we work together." - Max. #ProfessionalStandards
