Celebrating Indigenous Tree Day with a reminder that biodiversity is the foundation of resilience. At @Safirezim, we work with communities to safeguard indigenous species and strengthen sustainable forest landscapes.
Today we celebrate Indigenous Tree Day 🌳💚
Strong forests start with strong genetics. Don’t collect seeds from one mother tree, collect from different trees across different regions like Matabeleland, Manicaland & Masvingo. Mixing seeds creates stronger, more resilient forests.
#HappeningNow Today, we are participating in the @MinOECW stakeholder workshop to develop Zimbabwe’s 3rd Generation NDC (2025-2035).
The workshop brings stakeholders together to:
• Jointly assess the level of implementation of the revised 2021 NDC across key sectors
• Engage in structured dialogue on mitigation and adaptation priorities
• Consolidate evidence and insights to inform a next-generation NDC with clear, actionable measures
For SAFIRE, this is an important space to ensure that community-led solutions, nature-based enterprises and local governance systems continue to inform national climate action.

Today we held a constructive engagement with the @Zimparks CAMPFIRE Office to explore collaboration on community-based natural resource management and sustainable livelihoods.
The discussion highlighted shared priorities around community empowerment, local governance, and conservation approaches that deliver both ecological and livelihood benefits. A positive step toward stronger collaboration going forward.

Happy Friday! As you're prepping for the weekend, also prepare #NationalTreePlantingDay 🌳
Planting trees isn't just a feel-good activity; it's a vital defense against droughts and floods in our communities. Trees are the backbone of a resilient livelihood!
To date, SAFIRE has planted over 597 000 trees, restored 50 000 hectares of degraded land and increased the Average Monthly Household Income by $165 from Nature-Based Enterprises (Marula, Baobab, Honey).
Get ready to plant your tree on this first Saturday of December and help communities rebuild ecosystems.
