There are few better feelings than the peacefulness of walking in your neighborhood on a sunny day, the shade from trees and apartments/houses covering you, people passing by on their way to somewhere, feeling a part of something big yet simple

Congrats to the Knicks franchise Their players, coaches and front office Built a great team led by an underdog star in Jalen Brunson No doubt the Spurs will be back. This was just year 1 with a core filled with 20-year-olds

1) Spurs put up a hell of a fight and they’ll be back here soon 2) As a DC local reporter, at least now I don’t have to worry about the game being on election night

NEW: In a statement, @Janeese4DC’s campaign calls the OCF report on allegations of coordination with unions “absurd” and “politically motivated.” She says OCF violated its own process, and did not interview witnesses it said it did. The campaign says it will appeal.
NEWS: The D.C. Office of Campaign Finance is fining @Janeese4DC's campaign $16,000 for having "violated multiple provisions of District campaign finance law and the Fair Elections Program." OCF is also fining the union-backed @WashDC4all political action committee $4,000.

NEW: Ahead of D.C.'s June 16 primary, political campaigns have largely embraced AI — saying it helps them work more efficiently. But many also warn of limitations and risks including questions about ethics, transparency, and trust, @elizajanetebo reports: 51st.news/dc-election-2026-a…

Reyes Yanes’ team got back to me: she says they strongly disagree with the OFC’s determination, they plan to appeal, and they claim that the issue of contributor info discrepancies stems from factors like contributors having language-access barriers. More in the full response:

It wouldn't be an election without last-minute mailer drama. I asked Brown about it: she says she has "a different approach on what it means to stand up to Trump and be a Democrat." But Raj believes it's missing key context: she only campaigned against Biden in the primary.
It’s OK to criticize candidates for positions they took. It’s not OK to mislead. This quote is out of context - she also wrote in the same piece “[this] is too focused on understating the harms of a Trump administration and making an equivalence between Biden and Trump.” (1/3)

Guess this explains why Reyes Yanes still called herself a Fair Elections candidate after OCF's ruling: but you'd hope OCF would get this resolved before the election given the severity of what they allege. Either way, tough week for the campaign with these signs going up too:

News: I believe Trump's first comments on DC mayoral race. Asked by reporter how he would feel if Janeese Lewis George won (described her as focused on socialist policies), Trump said: "Well I wouldn't like it and maybe we would take back Washington, run it on the federal basis."

Election Day is around the corner, which means an end to a crowded (and often contentious) campaign season. But election night is going to look a little different than years past with ranked choice voting. Read more ⬇️ 51st.news/dc-election-result…

Good morning spurs fans! Yesterday was definitely top 2 toughest losses we ever had, but we still have every reason to believe. Yes, it's 3-1. Yes, the margin for error is gone. But this series has been decided by a handful of possessions. San Antonio already proved they can win in New York, and Game 4 came down to a single point. The Spurs have the best young superstar in basketball, a home crowd waiting for Game 5, especially after what Knick fans are doing to the players (and us) you know the energy will be there. Momentum flips fast once pressure shifts to the team trying to close it out. Win Game 5 and doubt starts creeping into New York. Win Game 6 and the pressure becomes overwhelming. Get to Game 7 and anything can happen. I've seen crazier things in sports. Spurs in 7. #PorVida

I literally never thought I would live to see the day that the D.C. government updated the look and feel of its websites, but here they've unveiled a new beta design and are asking for resident feedback: beta.dc.gov/

Not to get #vulnerable on the TL but while this loss was painful, I’m never going to rag on the Spurs because they’re more than just amazing players — they’re humans trying so hard to achieve their dreams on behalf of one of the greatest cities in the world. ❤️‍🔥
