What a system. David Lammy spends years carefully building relationships with key people, including in the Trump Administraion, now for nothing. Yvette Cooper spends a year getting to grips with complex immigration policy, for what? Shabana Mahmood has the benefit of 14 months grappling with the prisons crisis, now someone else has to start from scratch. These sort of reshuffles make very little sense.
