The National Police Dog Trials 2026 recap.
@PoliceDogTrials
What a massive privilege to be there with the finest dog handling teams in the UK - all of whom have competed at local level, then carried onto Regional Trials, before being selected to proudly represent their forces at the Nationals.
@WestYorksPolice were exemplary hosts, they could not have done more. Iβm so grateful to them for their warm welcome and hospitality.
It is always an incredibly special few days - spending time with these remarkable officers and their dogs is a huge honour, and to see them perform even more so. To say nothing of wider friends, event sponsors, and our colleagues from
@FiresideK9.
Everyone there enters into the spirit of the event, and while they all want to do their best, they love seeing their colleagues succeed too - each wishing the next well.
That is what is so special about the trials - the camaraderie, the respect, the friendships - and the mutual support.
Massive congratulations to PC Magnus McGarry and PD Kim from
@PSOSDogs and
@PoliceScotland, who were the overall winners.
Also to PC John Warren and PD Albert
@_GS_Albert from
@DC_Police who won the NFRSA Endeavour Trophy, they epitomise all that makes dog handlers so extraordinary.
My personal thanks to Sir John Robins, the Chief Constable of West Yorkshire and his team who worked tirelessly to make it such a memorable week.
I loved every minute and hope you enjoy this video compilation of the Trials from the point of view of an admiring onlooker.
The flag is now handed onto
@ASPolice and
@ASPoliceDogs for 2027 - no pressure! π We look forward to it immensely.
THANK YOU. I shall be smiling for weeks.
