Great talk at #EASCongress2026 on plaque regression in #atherosclerosis using spatial transcriptomics: regression shows a distinct lipid‑driven signature, with #Nestin⁺#macrophages and #Treg interaction via IGF1–IGF1R. Blocking this axis prevents regression!
#GlutamineGlutamate ratio links to #macrophage metabolism, impaired #efferocytosis, and plaque progression. Very exciting to see how small metabolites are gaining increasing recognition in disease diagnosis and as alternative pathways in atherosclerosis. #ASCVD#EASCongress2026
