It's the last day of Fall 2022 and sadly, @fordnation did not #GetItDone for the Ontario Autism Program. They promised to have 8,000 kids in core services by fall but are nowhere close as the waitlist grows to over 60k! @DrFullertonMPP won't give an update

Retaining individualized funding allows parents to plan for their child, but for many the system continues to fail their children. One size fits all funding based on a child's age works for some but is woefully inept for others, esp those with severe needs and the marginalized.

A child's healthcare and supports should be based on needs. Canadian govts fail in how to achieve this. Funding for disabilities is capped, creating bad programs with huge wait lists. Bottomline, kids lose and society suffers from it. Pay now or pay later!

On Doug Ford’s watch, the Ontario Autism Program has fallen into disrepair.
• In 2018, the waitlist had 23K
• In 2020, it had 27K
• In 2022, it has 57K 🚨🚨🚨
This government owes families transparency.
We need monthly core services progress reports now.

My #autistic son has a PT job & today he also worked on the #Brampton Election as a Greeter. This position pays $240. Unfortunately, he only gets to keep half. Why? Because #ODSP recipients only get a $200/m income exemption. Earn more and 50¢ of every dollar is clawed back.
