Modi wanted brain drain. He called it brain-gain, brain-deposit, etc jumla terms. Except he wrecked brains before sending them abroad and now people are sending Indians back and the freeloader hoping for remittances hasn't created a country where professionals can thrive.
One thing I’ve realized:
US has military power.
China has natural resources.
Gulf has Oil reserves.
India’s biggest geopolitical advantage is not any of these, It’s Indians.
Every major economy has Indian entrepreneurs, engineers, doctors, researchers, executives, investors, and students… 1000s in very big positions of power globally.
Very few countries have talent networks spread across the world at this scale.
The challenge is that talent alone is not enough. A country cannot become powerful by exporting its best people forever.
At some point, it has to become the place where opportunities are created, not just where talent is born.
That’s the real competition India is in.
