Thrilled to be included in this documentary alongside @ABDanielleSmith, @Invest_Alberta and @airproducts. Proud to have waste energy recognized a critical tool in Alberta's decarbonization strategy. #Cop28
This is the message Alberta is bringing to the world at COP28 👇 Alberta is an innovation hub, attracting sustainable investments with low operating costs and a skilled workforce. We are leading in clean energy technology, with hydrogen production, and waste-to-energy, while being committed to a carbon-neutral economy. Those are just some of the reasons why the world should invest right here in Alberta.

In this software obsessed age, it's quite humbling to think just how completely dependent industrial civilization is on heat exchangers.

Yesterday I gave a talk on using waste heat in UK industry at the Waste Heat Recovery and Utilisation Conference. So much of the energy we use is wasted ("rejected energy" in chart). But the potential for using waste heat is vast. Industrial electrification can unlock this.

The TransMountain pipeline continues to deliver whole heartedly on its original economic thesis. Canada has finally broken itself off of our 100% dependence on US exports. This pipe is creating generational wealth for Alberta and Canada calgaryherald.com/commoditie…

Awesome night for the Elks. 30 degrees, packed lower bowl and great vibe. 3-2 score after 2 rouges is hilariously CFL

Hmm how does one acquire a new family doc in Edmonton? Had one at the Allin Clinic and who recently moved out of province. Allin said no docs accepting any "new" patients and there is no patient transfer plan

Yes. The lag and delay in deploying resources on fires makes them consistently show up far too late to do anything
Should Canada create a national fire fighting force? #yeg #yyc #abfire

We need a structurally new approach to wildfire in Canada.
Brutal, heart-breaking images coming out from Jasper. Here's a post with more visuals on what's been lost so far. #yeg #yyc #ableg #cdnpoli facebook.com/100000441858685…

The fact that the only reason we didn't hit another all time high temp was because of all the wildfire smoke is some kinda cosmic statement
Looks like 31.3 will end up as the July 20 daytime high in #yegwx . No record today, but the string of consecutive 30deg days now stands at five, tied for 3rd-most all time. It remains highly likely we'll break the record of 7 days (set in 2021). We're on track for 8 or 9.

Fun facts: A 1GW nuclear plant, supplying about 1 million people, will make about 3 cubic metres of vitrified high level nuclear waste a year. Fast reactors can make even less. A similarly sized coal plant will output 300,000 tons of ash and over 6 million tons of CO2 annually.

Nothing beats the greatest outdoor show on Earth. AIHA is grateful to share time at the Calgary Stampede with so many leaders in the industry to continue advocating for ways to make our $45 billion region even more competitive.

Site C damn taking 50 years to flow its first electron is another big elephant. We have to figure out faster permitting, design and construction of large infrastructure.
Tough news to see another delay in ITER. This is unfortunately all too common in infrastructure projects in the modern era. ITER was originally supposed to be commissioned in 2016. We as a society must figure out how to build big things again.
