I am getting results for American energy that is made in Utah! The House just passed my GEO Act legislation to cut red tape, speed up geothermal permitting, and help unlock Utah’s world-class geothermal energy potential. My bill requires federal agencies to make a decision within 60 days after environmental reviews are complete. This will result in more reliable American energy, more high-paying rural jobs, and more investment right here in Utah. catcountryutah.com/ixp/1124/…

BREAKING: I’m helping UNLEASH geothermal energy. As the United States continues to face both increasing energy demand here at home and rising energy costs from abroad, fully harnessing our domestic geothermal resources is more important than ever. With energy bills going up, we need to embrace an all-of-the-above approach to bring these costs down for hardworking Americans.  Today, I voted to pass the bipartisan Geothermal Energy Advancement Act to do just that.

Making it easier to get more geothermal built faster is a huge win. More good-paying jobs, lower energy costs, and greater energy security - that’s what we’re unlocking with today’s reforms.
Exciting news! The House is voting on a bill today to improve geothermal permitting, siting, and building. The package includes good ideas from @RepMaloyUtah @RepMikeKennedy @RepAOC. Geothermal energy is critical to achieve energy abundance and these reforms are important parts of the path there.

Great news out of DC: legislative package of geothermal permitting reform bills PASSES out of the House with unanimous bipartisan support. Lots of leadership to thank for this achievement – Republicans and Democrats alike – and now it's off to the Senate! egsdc.org/resources/egs-dc-s…

Colorado is proud to partner on a bipartisan basis with states across the region for cheaper, cleaner energy. By working together to expand geothermal energy, we can create good-paying jobs, strengthen energy independence, and continue building a more sustainable future for Colorado and the Mountain West. deseret.com/u-s-world/2026/0…

LCOE is such a flawed metric, its use probably does more harm than good. Whatever small marginal value it provides as a simple way to compare resources is more than wiped out by the confusion it creates from being completely disconnected with how power markets actually work.

Energy demand is growing fast. The winners will be technologies that deliver more power, better economics, and real reliability. @fervoenergy going public is a major step for enhanced geothermal, and for the kind of infrastructure modern industry needs. Proud to have Fervo in our portfolio, and grateful for @TimMLatimer’s leadership in helping move this field forward. bth-energy.com/3PhUuM0

One of the best parts of reading @firstadopter ‘s “Nvidia Way” is a theory I have of linking the Nvidia design cycle philosophy back to why Chinese OEMs are fundamentally so much better at making new vehicles relative to western ones… 🧵1/

Frequently some version of this tweet goes viral (aCtUaLlY Texas is more expensive!!), and having split the last decade between these states, it's absolute nonsense. CA has some great qualities, but the idea that it's in the same ballpark as TX in affordability is insane.

6 years of living in Texas and I've come to the conclusion that the no state income tax thing is basically a scam. The property taxes are so high that they negate any savings. We are still paying as many taxes in Texas as we would in California. You save on gas I guess.

It’s a shame there isn’t more awareness around what drives electricity affordability as it is now a hot topic. If the average citizen understood that, e.g., NIMBYism that blocks a new transmission line directly leads to higher costs, the conversation would be a lot different.

Running Fervo has let me straddle the worlds of tech and energy and it’s been fascinating to watch them converge. Despite the convergence, I’m still shocked to hear tech thought leaders constantly parrot “energy is the easy part” when all the data points to the opposite.
Nearly half of US data centers planned for this year are expected to be delayed or canceled. Not a capital availability or chip problem. It's transformers and electrical equipment. Lead times have gone from 24 months to five years. The big four are spending $650B in 2026 alone but can't actually source the gear domestically. So we must buy from China. Ironic that the country the US has to beat in AI is also the country supplying the parts to build it.

One way to think about how durable data center growth is: currently autonomous driving accounts for a fraction of a percent of US VMT. We’ve got a long, long way to go.
