Dunkleosteus was the top predator 365 million years ago. It grew up to 4 m long and weighed as much as a beluga whale. It did not have teeth. Instead, the bones of its jaw formed jagged, self-sharpening razor-like edges that were perfect for cutting prey.

Juvenile oceanic whitetip sharks are bold, opportunistic hunters in open waters, feeding on squid and bony fish. Known for their endurance, they travel vast distances in warm, tropical seas and thrive in the pelagic zone.

In an incredibly rare event, our #AndersonCabotCenter aerial survey team spotted a gray whale off the New England coast last week, a species that has been extinct in the Atlantic for more than 200 years! 😮
