The advice on why you should do science here isn't just for women. Working class? You are under-represented & unseen, break that glass ceiling! From the developing world? You are tough & independent, get out there & show them. LGBTQ , carers, minorities... The key is 1/2
a good mentor to show you the ropes, otherwise the ones that get the grants will be those who have a better understanding of the system rather than those with the best science. Science is hard, but it is full of wonderful discoveries just waiting to be found. Go for it. 2/2
