Here’s the Truth: With the 28 roster limit, 5 years of eligibility, NIL money, internationals, and the transfer portal…… ….it is becoming extremely difficult to make a D1 roster if you don’t play ECNL or MLS Next. The D1 roster spots will be even more limited for true freshman out of high school with the 5 for 5 rule that those two leagues will dominate the college recruiting process even MORE.
