@eoghancorry all you care about is making money for your personal business. 95.% of traffic comes in and out of Dublin yet only 45% live in Dublin. Most people don’t need to travel to and from Dublin. I live in. galway. I want fly from and back to Shannon. Regional Development

#eoghancorry @simonharris @michealmartin We need a BIG focus on regional development and the creation of a western pole to counteract Dublin. Only with balanced growth will we maximise our overall economic potential. It’s Economics 101

Instead of blaming the GAA,Taoiseach, Tanaiste and successive Governments must take the blame. RTE has been underfunded for years. Provide adequate funding to RTE and they can then show lots more sport @drivetimerte @SimonHarrisTD @MichealMartinTD @jarlathburns @GAAGO @RTEsport

Class. What a brilliant educational intervention. I hope the Banana Republican congresswoman and her colleagues took the lesson on board.

Raskin to Boebert: Democrat is the noun. When you use it as an adjective, you say Democratic.. As if every time we mentioned the other party it just came out with a kind of political speech impediment like, oh, the Banana Republican Party.

Congrats Ann got a great study. Looking forward to hearing more about your PhD research as you progress. Best wishes to you and hope you enjoy the symposium @TUDublin_BN
Would you be willing to consume an insect? My PhD research is focused on edible insects suitable for human consumption. #TUDublinGRSPoster

Agree 100%. Laws need to protect tenants but landlords need protection too. They also need to be able to sell their property when they want without lengthy, expensive legal cases to have tenants removed once given necessary notice. And I’m not a landlord
A friend of mine is a landlord with one property. Self-employed, it is his pension and security for the advancing years. Some of his tenants are mature single people who are unable to buy their own place. They have been his tenants for years. He is not the problem. #housing

Very good question. Can’t think of a good answer to justify having everyone else hear stuff they don’t need or want to hear. Like playing loud music on speakers in public places.

Simon Calder being absolutely, perfectly clear about the causes of the delays at Dover. Not to assign blame, but to counter the pitiful excuses from the government and the pro-Brexit gang with some plainly spoken facts. Imagine that: FACTS!

Yes Con. I got the same text over a week ago. Delete it.
Is this a scam? I haven’t gone to the link yet..

Crazy stuff. He is doing exactly what is needed for sustainability. Government Dept madness. If he wanted to plant conifers they would probably insist he does the opposite.
Just heard of farmer on marginal land that has a small patch of native woodland that his cattle shelter under. Dept. has told him to remove it or loose payments or he could plant with conifers and be paid for that. This farmer is keeping his trees at a loss. The system is broken.
I do that to stop it sticking together. I also put salt in the water.

Secondly, the figure is just plain wrong. 2800 people are not dying each year from fuel poverty. A leading expert @colmpbyrne described it as a 'huge exaggeration'. Where did @PearseDoherty get the number from & did he look for up to date research? irishtimes.com/news/politics…
Mary, in fact Breda Casey was the real leader/driver of that excellent programme sadly discontinued. Breda got no credit for her leadership, single-minded dedication, and for the enormous amount of work she did. Not too late to give her the credit that she deserves but never got.
Congrats Niamh. Great occasion and lovely day for it. Looking good. Who’s the film star hunk with you ?
Prpud to (belatedly) graduate today with thanks to @nuig_adult for making it such a special day, and for arranging the seldom seen Galway sunshine.

Just watched grilling by @SarahAMcInerney Is this the way interviews should be conducted ? Seems to be new generation’s bulldog interview approach. No answers ever satisfy. I think of how Marian Finucane used to interview - subtle non-confrontational but got results.
Joining us now, Minister for Agriculture @McConalogue and Sinn Fein's Finance spokesperson, @PearseDoherty. #rtept #inflation
So Ulf, your solution is to fix it for cyclists and don’t worry about the impact on all those who are not cyclists ? A great solution. It needs to work for all residents.

“For all”? Terry, with respect, but it isn’t: for all right now. Cars reign supremely, even when not in motion. And ‘the silent majority’ is directly from a playbook I’d rather not read.

So @Colettebrowne you are another overnight expert on Galway and how to resolve our problems. Thanks for solving all our transport and infrastructure problems from Dublin. Another absentee expert is just what we need.
Good to hear democracy works and that Council members listened to the silent majority with serious concerns about a very flawed proposal e.g. Emergency services, the disabled, and those with serious mobility issues. Salthill is not just for fit & healthy cyclists but for all
I guess most Galway councillors are content with showing zero love to Salthill or for the future of the planet. Disappointed to see 13 vote to revoke the temporary cycle lane, with only 4 standing firm. They declined to make any amendments as per the submissions received.

@Paulineingalway what’s your miracle solution to Galway’s Traffic crisis? More bicycles for everyone? We need a workable solution to the horrendous traffic that has bedevilled Galway for over 20 years. A new bridge is essential to divert traffic away from the city bottlenecks.
A Judicial Review has been lodged in relation to the Galway Ring Road. This action by Friends of the Irish Environment is hugely welcome 👏. The Ring Road is an old solution to Galway's traffic problems. Did ABP really take in to account their obligations under the Climate Act?

Give up on this non-issue and move on. It’s finished as a news story. Focus your energy on much more important issues of today.

Give up on it now. It’s over and gone with. Move on. Much more important issues to focus on.
