In Bath, UK, people read the names of 15,500 Palestinian children killed in Gaza — nonstop for 17 hours. Artists, teachers, parents, even an MP stood in tears, name after name. Different tongues. One conscience. Not just a vigil — a stand for humanity. Their names filled the streets. Their memory lives on.

⚠️ Really important article by @DunnePdj @EwanForrest1 and colleagues 👏 . In a world where pre-emptive TIPS is becoming more common, this group highlights that it can be associated with ⬇️ transplant-free survival ☠️ ! The @AvbReact will definitely help answer this question and recruitment is ongoing! 👀 @DavidPatch1 @DrLChina fg.bmj.com/content/16/4/273 @PhilSmithIsBack @OTavabie @dr_aditi_kumar @TrevorTabone @eathar_s @IrenePerezMD @KGananandan @zare_benjamin @medicalreg @dtleiberman @BASLedu @BSGtrainees @WorldGastroOrg @ulstergastro @AASLDtweets @EASLedu @AmCollegeGastro @Aegastro @SAGES_updates #GITwitter #livertwitter #gastroenterology #MedEd

Congratulations to Professor Tom Bird on his paper in Nature providing new hope for liver cancer patients. An existing cancer drug, commonly used to treat leukaemia and multiple sclerosis, was found by the team to be effective at targeting difficult to treat hepatocellular carcinoma tumours. Just spent over 1 hour on the phone to @BritSocGastro President @andymveitch - he is not good on twitter but is seeing the tweets, but as you can see from his 88 posts, this is not his preferred way to communicate. 1/x

An amazing film by our colleage @YousefHammash showing the nightmare of trying to survive in Gaza - and the incredible sense of humour and determination that keeps people going.
How to survive the daily hunt for food and water in Gaza, under constant threat of airstrikes. Filmmaker Yousef Hammash, who also works for the Norwegian Refugee Council, sent this report from inside Gaza.
