With affirmative action banned, Southern flagships are seeing a large increase in black students. 50% increase in black freshman enrollment at Mississippi, 30% at Louisiana State. A lot of the brighter black students who could've got into a top university before will now be staying home, potentially changing the politics of the South. It's going to be hilariously ironic if conservatives ending affirmative action makes blacks much more politically influential in the Deep South by giving them a leadership class.

In response to a caller's concerns, Brookings Institution's Rashawn Ray (@SociologistRay) discusses the local law enforcement presence in Minneapolis amidst ongoing protests. "We've heard leaders of police departments come out and say 'Look, I'm all for immigration enforcement. But the way they're going about doing it in my city and my county is making my job more difficult.' And one thing I know about law enforcement is when their job is made more difficult it actually exposes them to more harm and we should be trying to prevent that."
