Congratulations to our National Action Network Senior Vice President, Ebonie Riley-Harvey on this special Women’s History Month highlight. Keep up the great work SVP. Repost from @richardafowler • WCW Caribbean Edition 🌺 Long before Haiti became the first free Black republic, Cécile Fatiman stood at the center of history. In 1791, at the legendary Bois Caïman ceremony, Fatiman helped ignite the Haitian Revolution—an uprising that would shatter slavery and colonial rule and reshape the world. Her courage reminds us that revolutions don’t just begin with armies… they begin with vision, faith, and fearless women. Today, that spirit lives on in leaders like @ebonieriley, whose work in philanthropy and advocacy is helping build power across the African diaspora. As a strategist and changemaker, she has spent her career investing in communities, supporting Black leadership, and strengthening movements that push our world forward. From the forests of Saint-Domingue to the boardrooms and movement spaces of today—Black Caribbean women continue to move history. Different centuries. Same revolutionary energy. #WCW #CaribbeanWomen #BlackWomenLead #HaitiHistory #CaribbeanExcellence

@SylvesterTurner was present at yesterday’s Black Caucus Meeting. With such slim margins in the House, his pass could be a critical blow to Democrats opposition strategy—if there is one,

This move does not give the power back to the people - it gives power to the White House. The WHCA is democratically elected by the full-time White House press corps. WHCA has determined pools for decades because only representatives FROM our outlets can determine resources all those outlets have - such as staffing - in order to get the President's message out to the largest possible audience, no matter the day or hour.
A group of DC-based journalists, the White House Correspondents' Association, has long dictated which journalists get to ask questions of the President of the United States. Not anymore. Today, I was proud to announce that we are giving the power back to the people. Moving forward, the ‘White House Press Pool,’ will be determined by the White House Press Team. Legacy outlets who have participated in the press pool for decades will still be allowed to join – but we will also be offering the privilege to well-deserving outlets who have never been allowed to share in this awesome responsibility.

For all those tweeting about today’s show. My point wasn’t that America doesn’t have cooper. It’s that we don’t have enough and trade is required. nytimes.com/2024/12/04/world…
Richard, do your homework!! The U.S. has more than 275 million metric tons of copper reserves and resources, enough to meet the nation’s projected demand for the foreseeable future; however, new U.S. mining projects currently average 29 years to begin production.

It’s called civic. Every year Congress passes a budget and they appropriate federal dollars to different agencies for different things. Once that money is allocated a White House go and move money for the State Dept to FEMA. ONLY CONGRESS CAN DO THAT!

Good question … why is funding for other countries being prioritized over Americans in dire need?

Former Pres Donald Trump just falsely claimed that VP Kamala Harris used to only claim her Indian heritage and only recently started to identify as Black. FACT CHECK: VP Harris has always identified as Black and South Asian. She went to an HBCU and joined a historically Black sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, in college.
