Wonderful to see Dr @Ssayers758 graduate, alongside 4 other students from our school! What a wonderful resilient cohort they have been. Smiles all around on a beautiful Monash spring day.

Last weekend, approximately 175 undergraduate students descended upon Rawson Village for the annual EAE1022 Field Trip. They learned about the biogeography, soils, geology, geomorphology and hydrology of the area around the Thomson Dam. @MonashDrones captured these moments.

A well deserved win for Coastal Research Group’s Dr Sabrina Sayers ⁦@Ssayers758⁩ with a mangrove cake - including the eddy covariance tower! Other amazing cakes include the Biology entry fondacetus. Thanks ⁦@Monash_Science⁩ for organising the friendly battle (batter?)

Congratulations to Marycarmen on her first paper, redefining our understanding of distribution limits of the most widespread mangrove, Avicennia marina, especially in relation to high temperature thresholds and the reliance of this species on freshwater: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

Got a chance to capture some footage during our field trip at #AMSN2022. Definitely not used to flying this high to get near the top of A. marina 🤣

Planting is not always necessary to restore healthy #mangroves. Every mangrove ecosystem is unique and there is no single solution to mangrove #restoration, rather we need to stop and think through the right interventions for each site 🌱 worldforestvoices.wordpress.…
