It would obviously be beneficial for the EU to have one unified language for important, time-sensitive deals, and only English makes sense.
Wasting two years to resolve translation differences is inefficient and anti-growth; the French and Italians are being dumb nationalists.
Oh Boy: President Donald Trump wants the NFL to change its name so that soccer is the only sport named football.
"This is football, there is no question about it. We have to come up with another name for the NFL stuff."

Today was an enormous day.
We got the worldโs first trillionaire. And Washington made the opening shot in the true international AI wars. It's official now, AI is a strategic asset. All non-Americans are out. Access is sovereignty.
They've essentially told the world to race.
Drama on Czech X after anti-migrant Prime Minister Andrej Babiลก teams up with an alt girl with a nosering influencer to promote himself. One detractor complains about it and others call him gay in response. Czechia continues to have most advanced anti-migrant politics in the west
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

He was initially running unopposed, but drew significant backlash from the local GOP establishment. A challenger received enough signatures to challenge him for the primary in August.
This is a Harris 1.9 seat, so it's very unlikely this guy wins. x.com/ctelectionguide/statusโฆ
Republican Anthony Emilio successfully gathered enough signatures to make the primary ballot in the 50th State House seat.
Emilio will face Jadon MacCormack, who has received bipartisan condemnation for his anti-LGBTQ comments and calling for a death penalty for "sodomites". Many Republicans in the district scrambled to gather signatures over the weekend to ensure MacCormack is not the GOP nominee in November
MacCormack is also the GOP's endorsed candidate in the primary. He will on Row A on the ballot. He won the district convention uncontested, before his comments were public knowledge. But State and Local Republican quickly consolidated behind Emilio after the comments came out. But MacCormack will be listed as having at the GOP's support due to the convention result.
This is the true legacy of DOGE - the utter decimation of medical research.
MAGA idiots will try to tell you this is just cutting DEI programs. Keep in mind DOGE was filled with such idiots they killed physics grants that mentioned 'polarization' (of light) because of "DEI".
There's starting to be a lot of real estate listings, noticeable even from casual browsing and certainly when apartment hunting, that range, generously, from "plausible but AI-enhanced" to outright fake, generated images.
I think the electorate has shown pretty clear limited tolerance for lefty positions on crime, illegal immigration, certain education policies (e.g. detracking, school discipline), middle-class taxes, and identity politics/wokespeak.
But in other areas the left is much stronger.
For theoretically competitive or reach seats, Dems got perfect Senate nominees in Alaska, Nebraska, Ohio, Georgia, and North Carolina. The best possible person.
Strong nominees in Iowa and New Hampshire.
An alright one in Texas, def not perfect.
Maine looks bad. Michigan TBD.
The idea that Dems "maxed out" possible gains from gerrymandering their states long ago is just not true.
These maps, for example, would wipe out 17 Republicans.
