In the same way that the mobile phone, GPS, and iPod evolved from stand alone products into apps on a smart phone, I believe enterprise phone systems are now evolving into features of collaboration platforms like @MicrosoftTeams and @Zoom. Just as the smart phone continued to enable us to make phone calls, find our way through new cities, and carry thousands of songs in our pockets, collaboration platforms can make our work lives more productive and seamless while continuing to provide support for key functionality, greater simplicity for the end user, and a lower total cost of ownership for the business.
