Located in the Terry Fox Laboratory, BCCRC, Vancouver BC. Translational research in genome integrity maintenance, using budding yeast and human cell line models
I work for the Canadian federal government and they sent out an email with work at home guiding principles. It’s amazing to work for a place that speaks like this.
A team led by Dr. Peter Stirling (@pcstirling) at @BCCancer has identified a new role for a well-characterized DNA repair complex, called the MRN complex, in responding to DNA transcription-replication conflicts. bit.ly/2lJOz4w
Thrilled to share our latest paper in @NatureComms
Great collaboration with @HieterLab@koborlab @JeanYvesMasson. Building on the #APOYG we really get into replication-transcription conflicts in human cell lines for the first time - now we are hooked! nature.com/articles/s41467-0…
Back at it once again but this time at the Cold Spring Harbor Replication conference! Presenting 3 projects by James Wells, Annie Tam and Emily Chang @cshldnarep
Excited to join the preLights community highlighting new and exciting preprints! Did you know the MRN complex does more then just double strand break repair? Check out my first highlight to find out how else it protects our genome: bit.ly/2MmFlnH
Online early today @MBoCjournal from my lab. molbiolcell.org/doi/abs/10.1…
Great job Annie Tam (and team)! Basically we find that it is not ALL about R-loops. Low tubulin levels explain most CIN in yeast splicing mutants (some make R-loops too).
Thrilled to be representing the @StirlingLab and presenting our data involving R-loop regulation with MRN, ARID1A and PCNA at the EMBO Workshop in Mainz, Germany @imbmainz
Related: we are looking for outstanding postdocs and graduate students to work on R-loops, Replication-transcription conflicts, hypermutation signatures, and cancer. See more: terryfoxlab.ca/people-detail…
Yes, incredibly exciting morning. I am really honoured that our work has been recognized and will be working hard to ensure that we live up to our plans. Thank you @CCSResearch for the opportunity!

The Stirling Lab is coming to #Yeast18. See you tomorrow, San Francisco! #apoyg
