Adam Hoffman, a former Waco attorney, was originally charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child — a crime that can carry a life sentence. Ken Paxton’s office cut him a sweetheart plea deal: the charge was reduced to misdemeanors, with a proposed 30 days in jail and no sex‑offender registration. A judge bumped it to 60 days, but he still doesn’t have to register. That’s not justice for a child who was abused for years.

Hoffman is the 49-year-old Waco, TX attorney who faced life without parole for repeatedly raping a young boy, until Texas AG Ken Paxton offered him 1 day in jail and no need to register as a sex offender. A judge increased his sentence to a whopping 60 days. He got out in 30 days.
