"Unprecedented in modern history." Hey remember that time when a sea and air invasion of Iraq was carried out by the United States over a false pretext to establish a puppet government? Or when Israel occupied part of Syria and illegally annexed it with a thin facade?

Wow.
Community note
The screenshots are not authentic. They are parody. It is funny parody (arguably) and probably harmless but also seems to be misleading a lot of people. Snopes has debunked: snopes.com/fact-check/ted…

NEW: Striking concrete workers in Seattle have shut down the city’s $23 billion construction industry. The @teamsters are fighting for higher wages & better health benefits for retirees. 34 workers walked out in November. Now 300 workers at 6 companies are on a general strike.

We will never understand why the local government in Los Angeles didn't fully take advantage of the unlimited funds from the federal government to provide hotel rooms to our unhoused neighbors the past 2 years. Like dang, we missed that opportunity big time.

The sheriff has encouraged deputies to get vaccinated but refused to enforce the mandate, saying they should have a choice. 54% of his employees are fully vaccinated, compared to 90% for almost every other department, according to the county.

for example, 40% of the sheriffs department is unvaccinated - meanwhile that department is filing 75% of covid-related workers comp claims

In early drafts of his 1961 speech, President Eisenhower referred to the “military industrial *congressional* complex” because the fraud of Pentagon spending requires complicit policymakers. Biden deserves accountability, but ultimately shares the blame with Congress.
Has there ever been a proposed military spending increase that Nancy Pelosi did not support? She—and other wealthy policymakers—have repeatedly decided that missiles to bomb other countries are more important than medicine for you & your family. Why tolerate those priorities?

If you're looking at Minneapolis Twitter & need a reminder: - No reforms were implemented after George Floyd's murder - The police were never defunded - No bodycam footage was released in Winston Smith case - Roughly 200 MPD filed for disability bc they didn't want to change

Both of these front desk LAPD cops make more in *benefits* than the median *household income* in Los Angeles. Let that sink in. We pay them more in benefits, alone, than the median LA *household* makes in TOTAL PAY. Come on, man. There’s something seriously fucking wrong here.

More specifically, UMAW demands are: Pay us at least one cent per stream. Adopt a user-centric payment model. Make all closed-door contracts public. Reveal existing payola, then end it altogether. Credit all labor in recordings. End legal battles intended to impoverish artists.

Today in the U.S., corporations will steal $137 million in wages, rich people will steal $2.75 billion in taxes, and 1,300 people will die from poverty, air pollution, and medical error. Think about who benefits from the news ignoring this and focusing on low-level crime instead.
