ALT Verses of A. Kalvos come from the ode "To Samos", but I connected their soul to my photo of Messolonghi. FREEDOM is not gifted; it's conquered & maintained at a heavy price. Anyone who fears & bends in the face of danger is condemned to live enslaved... For a PERSON or a NATION to be truly free, they need DARING, to break their chains with bravery & strength, risking everything & overcoming the fear of death or failure. & VIRTUE, because daring without justice & morality simply leads to a new form of tyranny... Verses that remind us that FREEDOM, even PERSONAL, is a daily, continuous struggle that requires inner cultivation & brave decisions... which I pray we all find within ourselves at some point... Heavy clouds in the sky & their reflection in the lagoon... & in between, the fragility, the ephemeral nature of human existence, the struggle for meaning, purpose, strength in pain, so that with serenity & freedom, one may walk the path of the illusion of happiness & the inevitable...
