“We encourage communities to think more broadly than ‘just’ a library” here’s that insulting & disingenuous “just a library” thing again, it seeks to diminish & undermine real libraries & the multi-dimensional work that real library workers have been doing for decades and more.

In terms of public libraries I think we are approaching (or have crossed?) the point of no return, we’ve lost so many libraries & skilled/knowledgable library staff that I fear we’ll never get back to pre-austerity levels of provision. It’s a national disgrace.

If you're a library user or library worker it's a crisis.
But if you're the SCL, Taskforce, ACE, a Tory, a social entrepreneur, an outsourcing fundamentalist or a transformation consultant it's an opportunity.
