قدمت سعادة السيدة ماريا سارجرين، سفيرة مملكة #السويد الجديدة لدى المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية، أوراق اعتمادها إلى جلالة الملك عبد الله الثاني خلال مراسم رسمية أقيمت في قصر بسمان الزاهر يوم الثلاثاء، 10 ديسمبر 2024. رافق السفيرة سارجرين في هذه المناسبة الملحق العسكري العقيد بيتر أوبرغ ونائب رئيس البعثة السيد يوهان هنريكسون. كما قام الوفد بزيارة الاضرحة الملكية. تتمتع السفيرة سارجرين بخبرة دبلوماسية تزيد عن ثلاثين عامًا. قبل توليها منصبها الحالي، شغلت منصب سفيرة السويد لدى بوركينا فاسو وكمبوديا. وشملت مسيرتها الدبلوماسية العمل في البعثات الدائمة للسويد لدى الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك وجنيف، وسفارة السويد في زيمبابوي، والبعثة الدائمة للسويد لدى الاتحاد الأوروبي في بروكسل، وكذلك في المفوضية الأوروبية كخبيرة وطنية منتدبة. تتطلع سفارة السويد في #الأردن لمواصلة تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية المتميزة بين المملكتين والشعبين. H.E. Ms. Maria Sargren, the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, presented her credentials to His Majesty King Abdullah II during an official ceremony at Basman Palace on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Ambassador Sargren was accompanied by the Swedish Defence Attaché, Colonel Peter Öberg, and the Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Johan Henriksson. The delegation also paid their respects at the Royal Cemetery. Ambassador Sargren has over thirty years of experience in diplomacy. Before her tenure, she served as Ambassador of Sweden to Burkina Faso and Cambodia. Her diplomatic career has spanned from the Swedish Permanent Representations to the UN in New York and then Geneva, the Embassy to Zimbabwe, the Swedish Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels and the European Commission as a seconded national expert. The Embassy of Sweden is looking forward to further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two kingdoms and peoples. #SwedenInJordan

Sweden strongly condemns Iran’s attacks against civilian infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates. We stand in full solidarity with the UAE and all those affected. A lasting solution to the conflict has to provide security to the countries in the region from Iranian threats and attacks, and ensure a full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Sweden is increasing its humanitarian support to Lebanon by SEK 70 million. More than 1.2 million people have been forced to flee. That is equivalent to one fifth of Lebanon’s population.
