ADMITTED FACTS
Thunder Bay Police Officers began an investigation on Nov. 3, 2019 after information was received that a local Internet user had uploaded files to the Kik Messenger website which were suspected to be child pornography.
KIK MESSENGER reported this to police.
An ongoing investigation revealed the suspicious files were consistent with child pornography. Investigators were also able to identify the local Internet user.
The user was CHRISTOPHER MCCULLOCH who was using the TBNEWSWATCH internet at 87 Hill Street North and his home internet at Varsity Place to upload child pornography onto a KIK Messenger chat group called “LILSFAMILY6969
As a result of these findings, investigators obtained and executed search warrant for a residential address at 225 Varsity Place on Monday, January 20,2020.
Officers seized two cell phones & 4 external external storage devices.
MCCULLOCH initially was charged with possession of child pornography.
TBPS Officers searched the devices and located 155 pictures & dozens of videos of child porn that MCCULLOCH had created using an indigenous prepubescent female.
TBPS Officers also found messages that MCCULLOCH had sent to his group chat where he wrote about his desires in committing sexual assaults against young female indigenous children. The contents of the messages are incredibly revolting, repulsive & nauseating.
We will not be describing any of the photos or conversations due to the completely offensive nature.
As a result of that evidence, another charge of making child pornography was made.
TBPS Officers also located encryption software that MCCULLOCH had used to try hide his activities from authorities.
