It was our pleasure today to host Dr Tomáš Radlička from the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences (@CzechAcademy) for an @TCD_AML seminar. Decades of #innovation - past, present and future ❤🛠🔬 @TCD_physics@TCDFacultySTEM
PLEASE RESHARE!! - we're #hiring a 12m #research assistant/postdoc to investigate the energy-efficiency of large research infrastructure. Applications (max. 2 page cover letter 2 page CV) close noon May 22nd. Diverse candidates and informal enquiries welcome. #jobfairy
Image of the year - Zeiss instrument category. Congratulations to Alexa Ennis (@florealarissa group) for her image of Vulpix Pokémon fabricated via 2PP and imaged using Cryo SEM. The prize was presented by Mark Parsons from @ZEISS_Group.

What happens when you heat ZnO@SiO2 core-shell structure under hydrogen atmosphere? ZnO evaporates and forms silica tubes. Those are great for energy storage, and it's lovely to see the ZnO evaporation in-situ with STEM. doi.org/10.1021/acsomega.2c0…
