Cyber scam centers in Southeast Asia stole over $10 billion from Americans last year. In response, today @USTreasury sanctioned individuals and entities linked to cyber scam centers in Burma and forced labor operations in Cambodia. Our actions will disrupt their cruel victimization of Americans online.

America has a moral, economic, and national security duty to eradicate threats that endanger our nation’s prosperity, including unfair trade practices that disadvantage the American people and stifle our economic growth. The Trump administration is taking action.   The use of slave labor is repulsive and we will hold Chinese companies accountable for abuses and eliminate threats its forced labor practices pose to our prosperity.
Today, @Sec_Noem announces the designation of new Chinese industry sectors as high-priority for enforcement under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act. America adds steel, copper, lithium, caustic soda, and red dates as high-priority sectors for enforcement under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, which restricts Chinese goods made with forced labor from entering the U.S.

The United States stands firmly with the Cuban people. Today, we took steps to revoke visas and impose visa restrictions on several Brazilian government officials and former PAHO officials linked to the Cuban regime’s coercive and exploitative labor export scheme. Forced labor and exploitation have no place in the modern world. Accountability starts here.

Traffickers use fraudulent job listings and other methods to recruit and exploit victims in forced criminality and forced labor to run online scams, like virtual currency investment schemes, which defraud people of billions of dollars worldwide. Dismantling these operations makes Americans safer and prevents further exploitation. #EndHumanTrafficking state.gov/targeting-a-major-…
Today, the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctioned Funnull Technology Inc., a Philippines-based company that provides computer infrastructure for hundreds of thousands of websites involved in virtual currency investment scams, commonly known as “pig butchering,” along with its administrator, Liu Lizhi. Americans lose billions of dollars annually to these cyber scams, with revenues generated from these crimes rising to record levels in 2024. Funnull has directly facilitated several of these schemes, resulting in over $200 million in U.S. victim-reported losses.

Media reports indicate a Chinese electric car manufacturer exploited 220 Chinese workers at a factory in Brazil to work under inhumane conditions. This is how China creates unfair competition and undercuts U.S. workers—by exploiting its own people.  #USWorkersFirst

The U.S. is serious about its efforts to promote accountability for those linked to the forced labor and exploitation of Cuban medical workers. Visiting the U.S. with a visa is a privilege. @StateDept took steps to impose visa restrictions on Central American government officials responsible for the Cuban medical mission programs.
The United States is expanding its Cuba-related visa restriction policy. @StateDept has taken steps to restrict visa issuance to Cuban and complicit third-country government officials and individuals responsible for Cuba’s exploitative labor export program. We will promote accountability for the Cuban regime for oppressing its people and those who profit from forced labor.

Cuba is defending its so-called medical missions to Caribbean neighbors and other countries around the world. But governments receiving Cuban medical professionals should know the Cuban regime’s program relies on a forced labor scheme and deprives Cuban patients of medical care they desperately need. share.america.gov/truth-abou…
