Someone on £80,000 is already paying £25,000 a year in tax. Corbyn wants them to pay £78,000 in tax. So their take home pay would be £2,000 p/a. Am I the only one who thinks this might not work?!

Yes! More of this sort of thing! Just listened to @jen_keesmaat podcast on Open Streets - paves the way (no pun intended) for more permanent interventions like this cc. @TheWarOnCars
Camden Council proposing to turn a road near Goodge Street station, parallel to Tottenham Court Road in to a park. Great idea 👍 camden.gov.uk/westendproject…

Just in case you needed a reminder of all the LIFE you can fit into cities when you rethink streets for cars. Space for green & nature that supports great urbanism, and space for PEOPLE! Via @watgdesigns @LondonNPC, #NationalParkCity Fleet Street vision.

This is great - very much along the lines of the average person doesn't actually exist
Replying to @JonnElledge
okay this was annoying me so I wrote it up “I am not a real person”: why the media’s search for authenticity is screwing everything up newstatesman.com/politics/uk…
Always better to treat the cause, not the symptoms... Was going to recommend @parkrunUK set up a race as this is exactly aligned with their mission... of course, they're already one step ahead of me! bbc.co.uk/news/health-497190…

Remember reading about an able-bodied architecture student who used a wheelchair for a week to learn how to design for users - could schools have a day of that to make kids more considerate in future? Another design-related issue - surely this process could be made easier?!
Sometimes people wonder how I get in/out the car, get my wheelchair in & then drive when I am paralysed from the chest down. Lightweight wheelchairs, car adaptions etc give independence back 😁(people parking in disabled bays with no blue badge often remove this independence)😱

I love this! Foyles launches later living libraries egi.co.uk/news/foyles-launch…

Required reading Example no. 108462 of; "Surprisingly, the solution you came up with after thinking about it for 30 seconds has been thought of by the people who do this for a living." Whenever I hear "it's common sense" I prepare myself to hear something uncommonly stupid.
Great stuff from Lee as always - get that Macro perspective!

Couldn't agree more - this seems like FOMO as applied to the "must read" books of the day - the ability to give skin deep soudbites rather than deep understanding
This crap was promoted into my feed. If a book can be summarized, it's not a book but a magazine article; don't read it and don't read its summary.
